netflix Announces ‘Physical: Asia’ with combat Sports Stars Pacquiao, Superbon Leading national Teams
Netflix is expanding its hit reality competition series Physical: 100 with Physical: Asia, a new installment featuring a nation-vs-nation format. The show will pit 48 athletes representing eight Asian countries – Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Türkiye, Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines – against each other in a battle for national pride.
This season marks a shift from the individual challenges of previous iterations. Each national team comprises six members, guided by a prominent athlete or public figure. Leading the charge are UFC veteran Dong-hyun “stun Gun” kim (Korea), former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker (Australia), boxing legend Manny Pacquiao (the Philippines), ONE featherweight kickboxing champion Superbon (Thailand), and MMA fighter Yushin Okami (Japan). Mongolia and Türkiye will be led by conventional wrestling specialists Orkhonbayar Bayarsaikhan and Recep Kara, respectively, while bodybuilder Igedz “Executioner” will captain the indonesian team.
Physical: asia is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix in October.
