Pete Crow-Armstrong and Alex Bregman Win Rawlings Gold Glove Awards
“It’s just something I take pride in, stepping out with guys who have a lot of hardware when it comes to defense,” Pete Crow-Armstrong said after Rawlings announced the season’s Gold Glove Award winners.
The Rawlings Gold Glove Awards were announced tonight, bringing hardware to Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong and third baseman Alex Bregman, reported. For Crow-Armstrong, the honor marks his second win in center field. Bregman secured his second career Gold Glove, having previously won the award with the Houston Astros in 2024.
Gold Glove History for Chicago Third Basemen and Outfielders
Bregman made franchise history by becoming the first Cubs third baseman to win a Gold Glove since Ron Santo accomplished the feat in 1968. The milestone follows a turbulent defensive start to the season for the infielder. Bregman credited Major League coach Jonathan Mota with helping him clean up his mechanics during pregame workouts. By season’s end, Bregman registered a plus-seven fielding run value, tying him with Manny Machado and Joey Ortiz for the best mark at third base in Major League Baseball.

Crow-Armstrong joins an exclusive group of franchise outfielders. His back-to-back awards in 2025 and 2026 place him alongside Ian Happ, who won four straight from 2022 to 2025, as well as Jason Heyward and Andre Dawson. Bob Dernier remains the only other Cubs center fielder to claim the award, winning in 1984. noted that Crow-Armstrong finished the year with an MLB-leading plus-26 fielding run value, setting a Statcast-era single-season record for outfielders.
Defensive Finalists and Minor League Honors
Crow-Armstrong earned his trophy by defeating National League finalists Andy Pages of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Michael Harris of the Atlanta Braves. Bregman topped a finalist field that included Max Muncy of the Dodgers and Javier Sanoja of the Miami Marlins.

Other Cubs fell short in their respective categories. Ian Happ saw his four-year Gold Glove streak snapped as Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio claimed the award in left field. Right fielder Seiya Suzuki finished among the top three at his position, but Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll took home the honor. Shortstop Dansby Swanson lost out to Arizona shortstop Geraldo Perdomo.
Meanwhile, the organization found success further down its depth chart. Josiah Hartshorn, the top prospect for Chicago, won a minor league Gold Glove as the top defensive first baseman across all of minor league baseball.
