Pennsylvania Inmate Serving Dauphin County Sentence Dies in Custody; State Police Investigate

SCI fayette, PA – Frederick Hall, a 42-year-old inmate serving a sentence related to a conviction in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, has died after being found unresponsive in his cell at State Correctional Institution (SCI) Fayette, the Pennsylvania department of Corrections confirmed.
Hall was discovered unresponsive on Tuesday, November 18th. Correctional staff immediately initiated life-saving measures,continuing until medical personnel within the facility arrived. Brownsville EMS was afterward called to the scene and provided advanced life support before transporting Hall to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Despite these efforts, hall was pronounced deceased on november 22nd at 4:03 p.m.
The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections stated that Hall was serving a 5-to-11-year sentence for Possession of a Firearm Prohibited, a crime committed in Dauphin County.He had been transferred to SCI Fayette in September 2025.
The Pennsylvania State Police are currently conducting a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding Hall’s death.As of this publication, the official cause of death remains undetermined.
