Former Gerindra Official Arief Poyuono Named Pelindo Commissioner
Jakarta, Indonesia – Arief Poyuono, a former Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, has been appointed as a Commissioner at state-owned port operator Pelindo, the company announced today. The appointment comes after Poyuono was removed from Gerindra’s management structure during the 2020-2025 period, reportedly due too statements perceived as supportive of President Joko widodo and considered counterproductive by some within the party.
Poyuono’s inclusion in Pelindo’s new board signals a potential shift in the company’s governance and strategy. Pelindo, formed through a merger of several state port companies, is a critical component of Indonesia’s national logistics infrastructure, handling a considerable volume of the nation’s trade. The appointment of a figure with Poyuono’s political background could influence the company’s direction as it navigates ongoing infrastructure progress and increasing global trade demands.
The latest arrangement of Pelindo’s Directors and Commissioners includes Agus Suhartono as President Commissioner, Suntana as Deputy President Commissioner, and Jodi Mahardi and Elwi Danil as Commissioners alongside Poyuono and two Independent Commissioners, Rakhman Fiadhy Kurniawan and Maximus Puguh Djiwanto. Arief Suhartono leads the Director team as President Director, supported by Putut Sri Muljanto (Operations), Drajat Sulistyo (Commercial), Boy Robyanto (Risk Management), Hosadi A. Putra (Business Development), Suriawan Suriawan (Engineering), Bachtiar Soeria Atmadaja (Finance), and Dwi fatan Lilyana (human Resources and General).
