Pawtucket police arrested Aloysius Weah, 46, on Monday after he allegedly failed to notify law enforcement of a change of address, a requirement for registered sex offenders.
According to a press release from the Rhode Island State Police, Weah was taken into custody by the Violent Fugitive Task Force without incident and transported to the Pawtucket Police Department. He is facing charges related to the failure to comply with sex offender registration laws.
State law mandates that registered sex offenders promptly inform authorities of any address changes. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure public safety and allow law enforcement to maintain accurate records of offender locations.
The Rhode Island State Police did not disclose Weah’s previous address or his current one. Further details regarding the case, including the nature of Weah’s original offense, were not immediately available.
The Pawtucket Police Department is handling the ongoing investigation. No court date has been set as of Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
