Paul Mario Day, widely recognized as the original vocalist for the legendary band Iron Maiden, has passed away at the age of 69. His former bandmates from More announced the sad news on social media.

Day’s career included a notable stint with Iron Maiden, where he was recruited by bassist Steve Harris in 1975. Although his time with the band was less than a year, he left a mark on its early history.
Following his departure from Iron Maiden, Day continued his musical journey with bands like More and Wildfire. He also served as the lead vocalist for a reformed version of Sweet.
In the 1980s, Day moved to Australia, where he continued to be an active musician until his passing. He is survived by his wife, Cecily.
