Patrick Agyemang Transfer to Derby County: News & Details

U.S. Men’s National Team striker Patrick Agyemang has officially transferred to Championship side derby County from Charlotte FC. Agyemang, who has scored five international goals, all in 2025 including two during this summer’s Gold Cup, has signed a four-year contract with Derby County at Pride Park.

The Athletic reported earlier this month that Derby County made a transfer offer in the region of $8 million (£5.8 million) for the striker. Agyemang, 24, a native of East Hartford, Connecticut, scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 63 career games for Charlotte.

“I’m going to work hard and fight for opportunities,” Agyemang stated upon his signing with Derby. “I like to do a lot of celebrations so when the goals come then I’ll do them, and off the field I’m really relaxed and I’m going to be myself.”

Agyemang scored on his international debut against Venezuela in January. He also scored in a kind against Costa Rica, the CONCACAF Nations League Finals match against Canada in March, and for Mauricio pochettino’s side against Trinidad & Tobago and Haiti in the Gold Cup last month.

The striker played collegiately at Eastern Connecticut State, an NCAA Division III school, and rhode Island before being drafted 12th overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, joining Charlotte.

Derby County finished 19th in the 24-team Championship during the 2024-25 season, three positions above the relegation zone.
