Pastef-Ucad Declines JPS Invitation Amidst Political Tensions

Pastef-Ucad Declines Meeting with JPS Amidst ‘crisis of Confidence’

the Coordination Office of Pastef-ucad has formally declined an invitation for a meeting with the National Senegalese Patriotic Youth Coordinator (JPS), Me Ngagne demba Touré. The meeting was scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2025.

This decision stems from a declared “crisis of confidence” between the two organizations. Pastef-Ucad has voiced strong criticism regarding the JPS’s perceived “prolonged silences and the lack of solidarity” towards their comrades who have faced exclusions and injustices.

Sole Interlocutor: Ousmane Sonko

The Patriots of the UCAD have reaffirmed their stance, recognizing only President Ousmane Sonko as their legitimate interlocutor. They consider him the “carrier of the patriotic project” that the party is committed to serving with loyalty.

press Conference Announced

To further elaborate on their position and provide clarity to the national public, Pastef-Ucad will host a press conference. This event is scheduled for Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the party’s headquarters.

Potential Political Repercussions

In a press release shared with Dakaractu, Pastef-Ucad highlighted the potential consequences of this breakdown in relations. The organization stressed that this crisis of confidence could exacerbate existing political tensions and influence current political dynamics.
