According to the Regional Directorate of the police force in Trenčín, the shooting unfolded on August 30, 2025, at approximately 14:30 CEST. The victims, whose identities have not yet been released, were reportedly attacked by an unknown assailant. One victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and a full investigation is underway.
“The police are intensively searching for the perpetrator and are utilizing all available resources,” stated ingrid Krajčíková, head of the Interaction and Prevention Department of the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Trenčín. “We are currently working with all available evidence and are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the investigation.”
Mayor of Trenčín, Richard Božik, addressed residents, assuring them that the municipal government is working closely with law enforcement. “I call on citizens to exercise caution and, at the same time, to maintain peace,” Božik stated. “Anyone with information related to this incident should immediately contact the police.”
