PSG Face Champions League Exit After Third Straight Defeat
PARIS-Paris Saint-Germain Women are on the brink of Champions League elimination following a defeat to Bayern Munich at the parc des Princes on Wednesday night. The Parisians, playing in front of nearly 13,000 supporters-including members of the Ultras Paris Collective-suffered their third consecutive loss in the group stage, leaving their hopes of progressing to the knockout rounds hanging by a thread.
PSG’s struggles in the competition are stark: three defeats in three matches have left them 17th and penultimate in the league phase standings. Bayern Munich, currently ninth with six points from three games, capitalized on the home side’s difficulties. A corner taken by Bayern almost resulted in a goal from Harder, but was cleared by PSG.
The match saw Linda Dallmann receive medical attention on the pitch after a corner, with the Bayern medical team assessing her condition. The starting lineups included Earps, Isabela, de Almeida, Mbock, Carmona, Yaya, Ebayilin, Carthaoui (C), Agreement, Leuchter, and Ajibade for PSG, and viggosdotter (C) captaining Bayern.
Former PSG players Habiba Sehili, Laura Georges, and Gwenaël Gérard were also in attendance at the Parc des Princes. The kick-off was given by the Parisian players at 9 p.m. local time.
