Paris Animal Parade 2026 Returns to Avenue Foch for World Animal Day
The Animal March returns to Paris on Sunday, October 4, 2026, shifting its route to the western part of the city for a free 2.4-kilometer promenade open to dogs, cats, and other domestic companions. Organizers expect about 500 participants and 300 dogs to join the procession.
Avenue Foch Route and Timeline for the Animal March
Participants will gather at Place de l’Étoile at 3 p.m. before moving down Avenue Foch toward the Bois de Boulogne. The route concludes at the Royal Pavilion with an expected finish around 5 p.m. The event marks the second Paris edition of the gathering, following a 2025 debut on the Champs-Élysées that drew more than 600 attendees. The change in venue provides wider service lanes and closer proximity to the park, giving the animals more space to move safely during the outing.
Water Stations and Animal Mediation Support Along the Stroll
Organizers have set up water stops along the path to keep pets hydrated throughout the afternoon. Volunteers trained specifically in animal mediation will accompany the walking group from Place de l’Étoile to the Royal Pavilion. The event remains entirely free for all attendees, whether they bring a pet or simply observe the procession.
Nice Hosts Animal Gathering Alongside Paris Dachshund Parade
Journalist and former municipal councilor Henry-Jean Servat launched the urban Noah’s Ark concept in Nice in 2022. The gathering is organized for World Animal Day and focuses on the role of animals in urban environments and broader questions regarding pet well-being. At the same time, western Paris hosts a second pet gathering on October 4, 2026: the Paris Sausage Walk, a dachshund-specific parade starting at 11 a.m. along the Champs-Élysées for a 1.4-kilometer route.
The Paris Sausage Walk is scheduled to conclude before the main Animal March begins at Place de l’Étoile, creating a dual-event afternoon for pet owners across the capital.
