Paolla Oliveira Explains Her Carnival Exit & Virginia Fonseca

Carolina Dieckmann Addresses Virginia Fonseca’s Role ⁢as Greater Rio drum Queen, Reflects on Carnival & Advertising‌ Ethics

RIO DE JANEIRO – Actress Carolina dieckmann ​has publicly responded to Virginia Fonseca’s recent⁤ appointment as the drum queen of the Greater Rio samba school, stating the ‍two ​women have “very ‍diffrent values and thoughts.” In ⁣an interview, Dieckmann emphasized her hope ‌that Fonseca will ‍approach the role wiht “love,‍ obligation and dedication with‍ the community, especially with women in that community,” noting her own experiences were‌ shaped by listening to those women.

Dieckmann also discussed her own transformative experience with Carnival, recalling ​warnings that participating would ⁣damage her career. She described rediscovering herself ⁢as a woman through the party, recognizing it as⁢ a space for female liberation⁤ and a celebration of identity, ancestry, and body‍ diversity.The actress further addressed a past⁢ decision to forgo alcohol advertising due to concerns raised by Helleninha, stating she lost potential income ‌but questioned⁤ the ethics of such advertising, notably regarding the portrayal of women. She advocated for more responsible advertising practices, drawing parallels to the evolving⁣ regulations surrounding ‌cigarette advertising and emphasizing the need⁣ to‍ address ​the societal ‌impact of alcohol consumption.

“We are‍ very different ⁤women. Any opinion you give will be to​ create female rivalry,” dieckmann stated, clarifying her intention to avoid fueling needless competition.
