Pakistan-Iran Economic Ties: Minister Visits Tehran

Pakistani Commerce Minister Visits Iran to Strengthen Economic Cooperation

Tehran, Iran – Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan arrived in Tehran on Sunday for a⁢ three-day official visit focused on bolstering economic relations⁢ between Pakistan and Iran. A press release from the commerce ministry detailed the purpose of the trip.

The visit comes as both⁢ nations already maintain close⁢ ties, evidenced by previous agreements spanning sectors like⁤ energy and trade. khan was greeted at Imam⁤ Khomeini International ‍Airport ‌by⁢ amin Tarfa’a, an advisor to Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

During his⁢ time​ in⁤ Iran, Khan is scheduled to lead the 22nd Session of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Economic Commission and co-chair the Pakistan-Iran⁣ Joint Business Forum. He will also engage in meetings⁤ with key⁣ Iranian ministers and senior officials, aiming to strengthen bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

According⁤ to the commerce ministry, Khan’s visit is intended to inject new momentum into the economic and commercial relationship between the two countries through these collaborative forums.

This visit follows a⁣ reciprocal trip to Pakistan by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in August, during which ⁢12 agreements and ‌memorandums of understanding‍ (MoUs) were signed. These ​agreements covered areas including plant protection and⁢ quarantine,joint use of the Mirjaveh-Taftan border ​gate,and collaboration in science,technology,innovation,and information and communications technology,as reported by Radio Pakistan.

During‍ the August meetings, both sides engaged ‍in ‍extensive discussions regarding ‌their overall bilateral ties, including⁣ cultural and religious connections,‌ with the goal of further enhancing cooperation.
