Paderborn police are investigating a violent incident at Westfalen Collage on Wednesday, with consideration given to establishing a homicide investigation, according to details obtained by BILD.
The incident unfolded at the school, which serves approximately 350 students seeking their Abitur or Fachhochschulreife, and employs around 40 teachers. Streets surrounding the college have been cordoned off as a notable police presence, including specialist forces, conducts searches for additional potential victims or perpetrators. Students, all of whom are adults, are currently receiving support from trauma responders as preparations are made for their release from the school.
A police spokesperson confirmed to BILD that officers are systematically searching the school buildings. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the incident and ensure the safety of the surrounding community.
