Oysters, Blues & Brews Festival Returns to Baltimore Peninsula This Weekend

Oysters, Blues & Brews Festival Returns to Baltimore Peninsula This Weekend

October 3, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

The Oysters, Blues & Brews festival returns to the Baltimore Peninsula for its fourth year on Saturday, offering waterfront access, live music, and educational exhibits centered on Chesapeake Bay conservation.

Waterfront Access and Environmental Education at Baltimore Peninsula

The waterfront festival brings together local oyster farmers, live music acts, food vendors, and hands-on conservation activities designed to connect the public with the Patapsco River and the Chesapeake Bay. Alex Snider, Vice President of Operations for the Baltimore Peninsula Partnership, described the waterfront as inherently magnetic. “If you just give people a reason to hang out by the water, they will do that,” Snider said, noting that the event uses food, drinks, and blues music to draw crowds.

Environmental advocacy groups utilize the festival to foster long-term stewardship of local waterways. Dave Sikorski, Executive Director of the Coastal Conservation Association, said community connection is essential. “Connecting people to the water in a fun way is so important,” Sikorski said. “As Marylanders, we’re lucky we’re connected to our bay, and this event is about celebrating that.” Attendees participate directly in restoration work by building reef balls designed to support local oyster habitats and learning native planting techniques.

Harbor Excursions and On-the-Water Activities

Beyond land-based exhibits, the festival provides direct access to Baltimore’s harbor through dockside fishing and boat excursions. “When you get out, your cortisol levels drop,” Nicusanti said. “It really is connecting back to the water. It really is rewarding to get people not just on the water, but getting people on the harbor itself.”

The event also features on-water training programs to teach basic boating skills. To encourage continued recreation after the festival concludes, organizers provide free fishing equipment to participants while supplies last.
