OOHPod Locker Exposes Windows Command Prompt in Ireland
A customer attempting to retrieve a parcel from an OOHPod postal locker in Ireland encountered an unexpected Windows command-line interface instead of the standard pickup menu. Rather than a welcoming display on the touchscreen, the reader discovered a blank screen alongside what appeared to be a minimized command-line window.
OOHPod operates a service where individuals retrieve and deposit goods by scanning an ID or entering details directly onto a touchscreen, which triggers the appropriate locker door to open. However, backend operations faltered during this specific encounter, exposing the underlying operating system interface to the public-facing display.
Encountering the Command Prompt
The reader described the interaction with the faulty terminal, stating, I tapped to maximize the window,
after which a sudden command prompt appeared immediately afterward.
While a command-line interface presents an opportunity for technical mischief—such as entering a FORMAT command or deploying a batch file—the system lacked the necessary tools for further intervention.

The locker provided no on-screen pop-up keyboard, nor was there a handy socket available to plug in an external peripheral device, leaving no way to type out commands into the exposed cmd.exe environment.
Customer Restores OOHPod Interface to Resume Normal Operations
Opting for a responsible approach, the customer bypassed any potential meddling. Another jab of the finger against the touchscreen caused the command window to vanish entirely.
The standard OOHPod interface immediately reappeared on the screen, allowing packages to be successfully collected as normal. Because the display was restored, the bank of lockers was left in a functional state, ensuring that the next customer would not encounter the unexpected operating system glitch.
