How do medicines act?

These medications mimic the action of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) hormone within the body. GLP-1 receptors are located in various organs, including the pancreas, where interaction stimulates insulin production. Initially, these drugs were developed to treat type 2 diabetes.
