Olimpia secured a victory in Juticalpa, solidifying its position as the sole leader of the Apertura 2025 Honduran National league. The win propels the club to 31 points, widening the gap in a tightly contested race for playoff positioning.
This result has significant implications for the league’s top contenders as the Apertura season progresses toward its playoff stage. Olimpia, coached by Eduardo Espinel, now aims to maintain its lead, while Marathon closely pursues in second place.At the other end of the spectrum, several teams face a mounting battle to avoid relegation as the season nears its conclusion.
Currently, Marathon trails Olimpia with 27 points, followed by Real España (22), Olancho FC (21), adn platense (19), tied with Motagua. Juticalpa FC sits in eighth place with 16 points, alongside UPNFM Wolves. the teams in the relegation zone are Choloma CD (10 points), Genesis National Police (9), and CD Victoria, at the bottom with onyl 5 points.
Motagua’s match against Olancho FC, originally scheduled for matchday 15, has been postponed and will be played on November 27th at 7 pm.
