Ogura Fastest in MotoGP Brazil 2026 Free Practice 2 – Results & Times

March 21, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Ai Ogura of Trackhouse Racing secured the fastest time in FP2 at the MotoGP Brazilian Grand Prix in Goiania on Saturday, clocking a 1 minute 18.237 second lap at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna. The Japanese rider edged out Ducati Lenovo Team’s Marc Marquez by just 0.011 seconds, setting the stage for a competitive qualifying session.

Marquez, returning to the Brazilian circuit after a 20-year absence of the Grand Prix on the MotoGP calendar, had initially set the pace during the early stages of the session. His pursuit of pole position was briefly interrupted when his brother, Aleix Marquez, crashed during a competitive run.

Ogura began to challenge for the top spot around the 15-minute mark, moving into second position before ultimately claiming the fastest time in the closing minutes. The session saw a flurry of activity as riders attempted to maximize their track time, with Franco Morbidelli and Francesco Bagnaia also vying for the lead before Morbidelli crashed with approximately one minute remaining.

Jorge Martin of Aprilia Racing finished third, 0.168 seconds behind Ogura. Francesco Bagnaia, also on a Ducati Lenovo Team bike, was fourth, followed by Red Bull KTM’s Pedro Acosta in fifth. Joan Mir of Honda HRC Castrol rounded out the top six.

The full top twenty results were as follows: Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Aprilia) 1’18.237s; Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo) +0.011s; Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) +0.168s; Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) +0.281s; Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM) +0.379s; Joan Mir (Honda HRC Castrol) +0.534s; Maverick Viñales (Red Bull KTM Tech3) +0.555s; Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina VR46 Ducati) +0.597s; Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina VR46 Ducati) +0.615s; Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) +0.627s; Alex Rins (Monster Yamaha) +0.684s; Fabio Quartararo (Monster Yamaha) +0.692s; Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pramac Yamaha) +0.713s; Diogo Moreira (Pro Honda LCR) +0.838s; Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Ducati) +0.839s; Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech3) +0.872s; Luca Marini (Honda HRC Castrol) +0.892s; Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Aprilia) +0.902s; Jack Miller (Pramac Yamaha) +0.975s; Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR) +0.996s.
