Ocarina of Time Remake Leaks Ahead of Official Debut
The Legend: Ocarina of Time launches on November 5, 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, bringing an expanded world and revised mechanics to the classic Nintendo 64 title. Early leaks reveal an expanded Hyrule and shifted terrain, with the game already surfacing ahead of its official debut.
Days before the release, players who obtained early physical copies shared screenshots and details on Reddit, starting with a user showing the installed title’s icon in their console menu. The leaked details show that the remake keeps the original’s opening intact—featuring Link galloping on Epona alongside the original musical theme and King Zora slowly moving on his throne—while significantly expanding the surrounding world. Kakariko Village underwent a complete redesign, and travel between Hyrule Field and Lake Hylia now happens seamlessly without loading screens or artificial gates, alongside newly added structures on previously empty terrain. Non-player characters now follow individual schedules akin to Breath of the Wild. Combat features smoother controls with shield mechanics tied to the camera, alongside redesigned ReDead enemies and a new jump attack.
Promotional Campaigns Across Polish Cities
Nintendo and Rockstar Games have brought their promotional efforts to Polish streets as part of a November clash for player attention alongside GTA 6. While towering GTA 6 billboards appeared on Warsaw skyscrapers, Nintendo decorated trams in Katowice and Poznań with graphics promoting the Ocarina of Time remake. Series producer Eiji Aonuma explained that the remake was also commissioned so younger developers without experience in classic titles could understand the foundational design of the franchise during the year marking the 40th anniversary of the first Zelda game.
Nintendo Underestimates Demand for Zelda Anniversary Console
The hardware launch surrounding the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 on October 29 has created widespread supply shortages across North America, South America, and Europe. Retailers such as GameStop and Best Buy face severe inventory constraints for both the $519.99 console and the $99.99 Pro Controller, with many locations receiving zero units for launch day. Bill van Zyll, vice president and general manager of Nintendo Latin America, stated that the company underestimated the scale of the demand. Midnight launch events scheduled by Best Buy for late on November 4 coincide directly with the period leading into the Ocarina of Time remake release, though Nintendo is expected to continue production through 2027.
