Nvidia has released Shield Experience 9.2.4, a software update for its Shield TV and Shield TV Pro devices, addressing a range of bug fixes and security enhancements. The update, which began rolling out this week, includes security patches current as of January 2026, according to a post on the Nvidia GeForce Forums and reporting from German tech site stadt-bremerhaven.de.
The update resolves a playback issue with the Disney+ streaming service. Users had previously reported problems with the service, but Nvidia confirmed the issue is now fixed with this release. Connection difficulties with Xbox controllers and other third-party remotes following a period of sleep mode have also been addressed, as have frequent Bluetooth disconnects with third-party remotes.
A bug causing the Shield TV and connected devices via HDMI-CEC to unexpectedly power on during sleep mode has been corrected. A crash that occurred when accessing Nvidia Share from within the settings menu has been resolved.
The update follows the release of Shield Experience 9.2.2 in May 2025, which focused on accessibility improvements, including support for TalkBack TTS in 23 European languages and features designed to aid users with disabilities. That update also addressed audio dropouts with Disney+.
Nvidia has confirmed that the Shield TV will be removed from Google Home integration following the installation of Shield Experience 9.2. The company recently reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Shield TV platform, despite the evolving landscape of streaming devices.
Shield Experience 9.2.4 is now available for download via the system settings menu on all supported Shield TV devices.
