Evanston, Ill. – The Northwestern Wildcats women’s basketball team will host No. 7 Michigan on Thursday evening at Welsh-Ryan Arena, the university announced. The game, scheduled for 8 p.m. CT, will be broadcast on Peacock and NBCSN, with A.J. Kanell and Autumn Johnson providing commentary.

Northwestern enters the contest with an 8-15 overall record and a 2-10 mark in Big Ten Conference play. The Wildcats are coming off an 83-65 loss to USC last Thursday, likewise at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Grace Sullivan led all scorers in that game with 24 points, marking her 16th game of the season reaching the 20-point threshold. Casey Harter contributed 20 points, coming within one point of her career high.

Sullivan currently averages 23.8 points per game against Big Ten opponents, tied for second-highest in the conference. Harter has scored in double figures in five of the Wildcats’ last seven games, averaging 12.7 points during that stretch. Caroline Lau dished out nine assists in the USC game, bringing her season total to 12 games with nine or more assists.

Michigan arrives in Evanston with a 20-4 overall record and an 11-2 record in Big Ten play. The Wolverines narrowly lost to No. 2 UCLA 69-66 on Sunday at Crisler Center. Michigan is currently ranked No. 7 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

Thursday’s game is Northwestern’s annual Pink Game, raising awareness for breast cancer research. The university’s athletics website, nusports.com, is offering tickets to the event. Northwestern also announced its 2026 home football venues and the season opener at Ryan Field on February 3rd, and three Wildcats earned NFL Scouting Combine invites on February 11th. Three Wildcats were also named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List on February 11th, and the softball team is set to compete in the ESPN Clearwater Invitational for five games starting soon.

The Northwestern athletics program encompasses 21 NCAA Division I teams, according to the university’s athletics and recreation website. Intramural sports and sports clubs are also available to students, providing opportunities for both competitive and recreational participation.
