BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Northampton Community College (NCC) has promoted Nick Haegele to Interim Head Men’s and Women’s Wrestling Coach for the 2025-26 season, the athletics department announced today. haegele’s appointment follows the departure of Shaun Lally, who resigned in August after leading the program for one season.
The move elevates Haegele from his previous role as assistant coach, where he was instrumental in the Spartans’ prosperous inaugural wrestling season. Director of Athletics Troy Tucker praised Haegele’s contributions, stating, “We are thrilled to have Coach Haegele leading our wrestling program. Nick did an outstanding job last year as our assistant and played a vital role in our success.” This transition ensures continuity for NCC’s wrestling program as it builds upon it’s initial foundation and aims to further develop its student-athletes.
Haegele brings a strong wrestling background to the position, having competed collegiately at NCAA Division II Millersville University from 2013 thru 2016. During his time with the Marauders, he qualified for the NCAA Super Region I tournament at 149lbs in the 2015-16 season.
“I can’t wait to get started,” said Haegele. “Wrestling has played such a huge role in my life, I am excited to work with these young men and women and help them become not just better wrestlers, but better people as well.”
Interested wrestlers are encouraged to attend an informational meeting the week of September 8th. Specific details regarding the date, time, and location will be published on nccspartans.com and the program’s social media channels.
