DURHAM, N.C. – no. 3 Duke women’s soccer will conclude its non-conference schedule Sunday, hosting Alabama at Koskinen Stadium. The Blue Devils enter the contest with a 5-0-1 record, having secured shutouts in thier last four matches.
Duke has demonstrated offensive prowess throughout the non-conference season, featuring a multiple goal scorer in each of the first two matches – a feat accomplished only four times in program history: 2024, 2015, 2008, and 1997. Leading the offensive charge is sophomore forward Chloe Rader, who currently leads the squad with 15 points, including a hat trick and seven points against VMI. fellow forward Kat minestrella is tied with Rader with two game-winning goals, having scored against penn State and Arkansas.
Freshman Avery Oder has also made an immediate impact, scoring in her opening two matches and four of the first five contests. Oder became the 19th Blue Devil freshman to score in her first collegiate start and the first since Michelle Cooper in 2021. Her goal against Penn State came at the 3:20 mark,the fifth-quickest goal to open a season in Blue Devil history and the second-quickest by a Duke freshman. Oder is tied for first among ACC rookies with four goals, alongside Katie Ellemeyer of Pitt.
Defensively, Duke has been anchored by sophomore goalkeeper Caroline Dysart, who has been notable in her first 421:05 minutes as a Blue Devil. Dysart has yet to allow a goal, setting a new Duke record, surpassing Meghan Thomas’ previous streak of 250:39 from 2011-13. She currently ranks first in the ACC in goals-against average (.000) and save percentage (1.000).
