The shoe, a collaboration with Air Afrique, arrives as the latest iteration in a growing trend of hybridized formal footwear-a style gaining traction in contemporary fashion.
Unlike Nike’s recently released women’s-exclusive loafer, the Air Max RK61 will be available in full family sizing, offering the unique design to a wider audience. The launch taps into a current appetite for unexpected footwear combinations, evidenced by the popularity of sneaker-loafer mashups and past Nike experiments like the 1980s Vagabond loafer and G-Dragon’s 2021 Nike Kwondo.
