Nihon Kohden Launches India Tech Center to Drive Digital Health Innovation
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India – Nihon kohden Corporation today announced the establishment of Nihon Kohden Advanced Technology Center, India, a new subsidiary focused on software development for both medical equipment and the company’s internal IT systems. Operations are slated to begin in January 2026,with a phased integration of development and maintenance functions from existing Nihon Kohden entities – including Nihon Kohden Digital Health solutions,LLC,Nihon Kohden America,LLC,and the parent corporation – planned through March 2029.
The move underscores Nihon Kohden’s commitment to strengthening its digital health capabilities, a core pillar of its BEACON 2030 Phase II business plan. By internalizing previously outsourced operations, the company aims to accelerate innovation, enhance compliance with international medical device regulations, and bolster cybersecurity across its product lines and corporate infrastructure. The initiative is also expected to yield cost reductions.
The new subsidiary, capitalized at 85 million rupees (approximately 154 million yen), will be led by Sakthi Vajiravel, who also serves as General Manager of Corporate Digital Conversion Division at Nihon Kohden Corporation. Initial staffing is projected to reach approximately 10 employees by March 2026.
Located in Bengaluru, the technology center will focus on the development and maintenance of software critical to Nihon Kohden’s expanding portfolio of medical electronic equipment and its evolving corporate IT needs. The company anticipates a minimal impact on consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.
