The Valley Preferred Cycling center is set to host its annual memorial event honoring cyclist Reinhart, aiming to foster the next generation of women in cycling. This year’s event will feature cyclist Christine D’Ercole, a former competitor of Reinhart’s during the 1997 EDS Cup Series, who will participate in the race in Reinhart’s memory.
D’ercole is spearheading a fundraising raffle with a target of $2,000 to contribute to the Memorial Race prize purse. Any surplus funds generated will be directed to Star Track, an organization dedicated to youth cycling programs. The raffle offers prizes such as a sterling silver pendant with hand-stamped detailing,a custom bar pendant,and a personalized journal.
Raffle tickets for the prize package are available for purchase at thevelodrome.com/raffle, with options ranging from $20 for a single ticket to $60 for four tickets.The winner of the raffle is scheduled to be announced during Friday’s races.
