Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Separate After 19 Years of Marriage
Los Angeles – After nearly two decades of marriage, actors Nicole Kidman, 58, and country music star Keith Urban, 57, are separating, Variety has confirmed. The split marks the end of a high-profile relationship that began in 2005.
Kidman and Urban first met at the G’day USA gala in Los Angeles, an event celebrating Australian talent. Their engagement followed a year later, culminating in a wedding in Sydney in June 2006.Together, they share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Early in their marriage, Kidman supported Urban through a period of struggle with alcohol abuse, staging an intervention that led him to seek treatment and rehabilitation. urban has publicly acknowledged Kidman’s pivotal role in his recovery.
Throughout their 19-year marriage, the couple were frequent attendees at major industry events, including the Met Gala, Academy Awards, and Academy of Country Music Awards. Most recently, Urban delivered a speech honoring Kidman at the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award gala in April 2024.
Kidman, who was named by Forbes as the world’s highest-paid actress in 2024, won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2003 for her role in “The Hours” and has received four additional Oscar nominations. Her recent film and television credits include “big Little Lies,” “Babygirl,” “Nine Perfect strangers,” “being the Ricardos,” and “The Perfect Couple.” She was previously married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001, and shares two children, Bella and Connor, with him.
Urban rose to prominence in the U.S. country music scene in the early 2000s, earning four Grammy Awards and 15 Academy of Country Music Awards. He has released 11 studio albums and served as a judge on “American Idol” for three seasons. He is currently on tour, with a scheduled performance in Hershey, Pa. on Thursday.
