Nicholas Tse Chengdu Concert Approved: Are You Ready to Buy Tickets?

The Chengdu municipal government has approved a concert by Hong Kong singer and actor Nicholas Tse, Sichuan Daily reported February 27, 2026. The approval paves the way for Tse’s “Evolution Nic Live” tour to stop in the Sichuan province capital.

The concert is scheduled for May 2 and May 3, 2026, at the Chengdu Dong’an Lake Sports Park Main Stadium, according to a report by Sohu Entertainment. The approval comes as Chengdu seeks to attract more large-scale entertainment events.

The concert is one of several recently approved for the city. Sohu Entertainment reported that performances by Taiwanese rock singer Wu Bai, Taiwanese singer-songwriter Yang Cheng-lin, and Hong Kong singer-songwriter Tsai Chien-na have also been given the green light. Yang Cheng-lin’s concert is scheduled as a Chengdu addendum to her “The Elephant in the Room” tour on March 28, 2026, at the Chengdu Wuliangye Cultural and Sports Center.

The move to attract major artists to Sichuan province is part of a broader initiative by the provincial government. According to a report from QQ News, Sichuan officials announced in October 2025 that artists including Tse, Jay Chou, and Sun Yanzi had included the province in their 2025-2026 tour plans. The province is actively coordinating with artist teams to secure venues and dates.

Wang Bing, a Level-2 Inspector with the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, stated in October that over 30 artists with significant market appeal had indicated their intention to include Sichuan in their tour schedules. The province has streamlined the concert approval process, reducing processing time to 3-5 working days, a 60% improvement in efficiency. A “tour filing” system has also been implemented, eliminating redundant reviews.

Data released by the Sichuan government indicates that the province hosted 110 large-scale performances with audiences exceeding 5,000 people between January and September of last year, attracting over 2.1 million attendees and generating 140 million yuan in ticket revenue.

Tsai Chien-na is scheduled to perform her “Into the B-sides” tour in Chengdu on May 23, 2026, at the Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center. Wu Bai & China Blue’s “ROCK STAR 2” tour will accept place on May 30 and May 31, 2026, at the Chengdu Dong’an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Gymnasium.
