Cowboys Teammates Reportedly Viewed Micah Parsons as “Selfish and Self-Centered” amid Trade to Packers
GREEN BAY, WI – Following Micah Parsons’ recent trade from the dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers, reports are surfacing alleging friction between the star pass rusher and his former teammates. According to a report by Sports Illustrated, some Cowboys players considered Parsons “selfish and self-centered,” and expressed concerns regarding his podcast, “The Edge with Micah Parsons.”
The report highlights a perceived disparity in parsons’ contract negotiations compared to those of teammates dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Zack Martin. sports Illustrated‘s Albert Breer wrote, “Martin, lamb and Prescott are or were very popular in the cabin. This is not the case with Parsons. He annoyed his teammates in different ways and is considered to be selfish and self-centered. His podcast has also caused problems that reach up to Quarterback Dak Prescott.”
Despite the reported tension, Parsons ultimately secured a four-year, $188 million contract with the Packers – the largest deal in NFL history for a non-quarterback.
Prior to the trade, Prescott publicly expressed optimism about Parsons reaching an agreement with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones before the season opener against the Philadelphia eagles. ”I am confident that he will be on the field in week one. I only speak here from experience. I just hope – and I no that he is - that he is ready to play,” Prescott said last Monday after practice. Those hopes were ultimately unrealized with Parsons now joining Green Bay.
