NFL Launches Review of Giants‘‌ Concussion Protocol Following‌ Coach’s tent Visit

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – the NFL⁤ has initiated a review of the New York Giants’ handling of concussion protocol after head coach Brian Daboll entered the medical tent during Thursday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles to inquire about the status of quarterback Jackson Dart. The incident occurred in the third quarter after Dart sustained a hit to the left shoulder and temple.

Dart ‍completed 17 of 25 passes for a touchdown in the game,⁢ which the Giants ⁤won. However, the focus has shifted to the circumstances surrounding his evaluation following ⁣the impact.

During a post-game interview, Daboll acknowledged ⁣intervening with the ⁤medical staff and apologized ⁢for his actions. “If you’ve ever been on an NFL sideline, there’s a lot of emotion… and‌ I’m definitely an emotional guy,” Daboll stated. He ‌added he apologized “in person” to the team doctor,⁤ saying, “If he’s right I hope his a** is there.” Daboll explained he ⁣was concerned about preparing for a potential fourth-down attempt and wanted to know how long the evaluation would take. “So again, you want your guy to be there. ‍There’s no risk in anything else,” he said.He concluded with a further apology, stating, “I was wrong.”

the NFL confirmed the review will be conducted ‍jointly with the NFLPA, as outlined ⁢in the collective bargaining ‌agreement.

The Giants (2-4) will next face the Denver‍ Broncos, while the Eagles (4-2) ⁣will play the Minnesota Vikings.

Further updates will be provided as the review progresses.
