The New Yorker Festival Reveals Packed 2025 Lineup, Featuring Jon Stewart, Keanu Reeves, and More
NEW YORK, NY – The New Yorker today unveiled the full program for its 2025 Festival, a weekend of lively conversations, performances, and masterclasses featuring a diverse array of prominent figures from entertainment, politics, art, and culture. The festival promises a deep dive into current events and creative pursuits, continuing The New Yorker’s tradition of insightful and engaging public discourse.
The 2025 Festival will host a series of in-depth interviews, including a conversation between comedian Jon Stewart and The New Yorker’s editor, David Remnick. Other notable interviews will feature actor and producer Sarah Jessica Parker with staff writer Rachel Syme, and actor and writer Emma Thompson with staff writer Helen Shaw.
Beyond the world of entertainment,the festival will also explore pressing contemporary issues with conversations featuring former chair of the Federal Trade Commission Lina Khan (with staff writer Shelah Kolhatkar) and former U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy (with contributing writer Dhruv Khullar).
The lineup extends to include writer and “Jeopardy!” host Ken Jennings with senior editor Tyler Foggatt, writer and director Noah Baumbach with articles editor Susan Morrison, comedians Kate Berlant and Jacqueline Novak with Rachel Syme, artist Rashid Johnson with curator Thelma Golden, actor, producer, and author Demi Moore with staff writer Jia Tolentino, restaurateur Danny meyer with staff writer Helen Rosner, director, actor, and musician Christopher Guest with staff writer Ariel Levy, “Chicken Shop Date” host Amelia Dimoldenberg and comedian Megan Stalter with cartoons editor Emma Allen, actor and writer Keanu Reeves and actor and filmmaker Alex Winter with staff writer Naomi Fry, and architect Annabelle Selldorf with staff writer Rebecca Mead.
Adding a musical dimension to the festival,actor Jonathan Groff will discuss his work and perform,as will musician St.Vincent in conversation with staff writer Vinson Cunningham. A joint performance and conversation is also planned for musicians Lucy Dacus and Rufus Wainwright with staff writer Amanda Petrusich.The festival will also feature a documentary screening with an appearance by executive producer Judd Apatow alongside Curry for a post-screening discussion. Rounding out the program are a podcast taping, roundtables on political and cultural topics, a cartooning master class led by two of the New Yorker’s artists, and an onstage trivia contest pitting New Yorker writers against editors.
