Ferrari Unveils Elettrica: First All-Electric Car Promises 1,000 Horsepower and 530km Range
MARANELLO, ITALY - Ferrari has offered an unprecedented first look at the technology underpinning its inaugural all-electric vehicle, the Elettrica, slated for release in 2026. Departing from conventional launch strategies,the Italian automaker showcased the car’s platform and technical specifications before revealing its exterior and interior design. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna described the elettrica as a model intended for “family and friends” during an investor event in October, as reported by MotorTrend.
The Elettrica features a four-door design and a powerful drivetrain with four motors - two at the front and two at the rear – providing all-wheel drive. Its 122 kWt battery utilizes an 880-volt architecture and is integrated directly into the chassis. Ferrari states the Elettrica will achieve a range of up to 530 km (approximately 329 miles) and support rapid charging at speeds up to 350 kW.
Despite its four doors, performance remains a key focus.The Elettrica boasts nearly 1,000 horsepower in boost mode, enabling acceleration from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph).
The design of the Elettrica is widely speculated to be led by former Apple designer Jonny Ive and his firm, LoveFrom. Ferrari has not yet disclosed pricing facts, but it is indeed expected to be positioned at a premium level.
The Elettrica is among a series of new models planned for launch in 2026, prompting discussion among enthusiasts about future electric vehicle offerings and the impact of electric car VAT policies.
