New Apple TV 4K With A19 Chip Doubles Graphics, Techworld.hu Says
Apple is preparing to release a new Apple TV 4K powered by an A19 chip, which techworld.hu reported will deliver up to a 50 percent faster processor and double the graphical speed of the previous A15 Bionic model.
Transition to 3-Nanometer Architecture
The upcoming fourth-generation streaming device utilizes a 3-nanometer manufacturing process, replacing the 5-nanometer architecture used in the previous model.
A19 Chip Doubles Memory for Faster Performance
The new system-on-chip features six CPU cores and five GPU cores, supported by 8 GB of LPDDR5X memory. According to techworld.hu, this memory configuration doubles the capacity of the 4 GB RAM found in the previous generation while delivering higher data transfer speeds. The hardware updates aim to produce faster menus, smoother interface animations, and reduced response times. The A19 processor also introduces hardware-accelerated ray tracing and neural accelerators, allowing software developers to implement more complex graphical rendering in applications.
Push Into High-End Gaming
Apple is positioning the hardware to handle demanding gaming titles alongside traditional streaming content. During initial demonstrations reported by techworld.hu, the company ran NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition on a 4K television utilizing ultra-high graphics settings. The A19 architecture supports advanced rendering techniques such as artificial intelligence-assisted upscaling and frame generation.
Software Optimization Determines Console Competition
However, techworld.hu noted that these specifications do not position the device as a direct competitor to dedicated consoles like the PlayStation or Xbox, as actual performance relies heavily on software optimization, resolution targets, and developer backing. Software support remains a primary factor for the platform’s expansion. Apple currently centers its gaming strategy around the Apple Arcade catalog, and the hardware reveal included no major announcements regarding console game integrations, leaving broader adoption dependent on whether developers port major titles to the tvOS operating system.
Secure Enclave Protects Sensitive User Data
Beyond performance metrics, the A19 chip incorporates hardware-level security protections. Techworld.hu highlighted the inclusion of Secure Enclave technology, which establishes an isolated, protected environment for processing sensitive user data. Siri queries can be handled locally on the device or routed through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute infrastructure. The company states that this cloud architecture processes requests without exposing underlying data to Apple or external third parties. Practical performance gains and the real-world impact of the new hardware will become clearer once detailed product testing is conducted.
