Actor Neve Campbell has clarified that a meeting with Prince Harry was not a date, confirming reports that surfaced earlier this month. The Scream star encountered the Duke of Sussex at a mutual friend’s birthday party, where they shared a conversation and a dance, but did not exchange contact information, according to statements made by Campbell and reported by RTL Boulevard.
Campbell revealed the encounter during an appearance on the UK’s The Jonathan Ross Indicate, as reported by multiple outlets including the Mirror and The Independent. She described the moment she learned Harry had been a childhood fan, recalling his admission that he once had a poster of her on his bedroom wall as “a little awkward.”
“He told me that he had a poster of me on his wall when he was a child,” Campbell said, as quoted by The Independent. “That’s a little awkward. I don’t know if that was a line. It could have been a line.”
The meeting occurred prior to Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle. Campbell herself has been married to JJ Feild since 2012 and shares two children with him.
Campbell also noted that Prince Harry spoke about his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, during their conversation, a detail she found “very odd” at the time, according to RTL Boulevard. She described the Duke as “really lovely.”
The actress is currently promoting the upcoming seventh installment in the Scream franchise, where she reprises her role as Sidney Prescott. She told ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show that the latest film is a return to the character’s journey, exploring the challenges of motherhood and the ever-present threat to her family, as reported by The Independent.
