RENO, Nev. – The Nevada Wolf Pack and San Jose State spartans concluded thier match in a 1-1 tie Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Mackay Stadium following a spirited contest marked by a Senior day celebration for NevadaS graduating players.
The evenly matched game saw Nevada take an early second-half lead courtesy of senior Rylee Husted’s goal in the 49th minute. San Jose State answered back in the 73rd minute, leveling the score and ultimately forcing the draw. The result impacts both teams’ positioning in the Mountain West Conference standings as the season progresses.
Prior to the kickoff, the Nevada Women’s Soccer program recognized its senior class in a pregame ceremony honoring their commitment to the program. The emotional atmosphere fueled a competitive match where both sides demonstrated resilience and determination.The Spartans‘ equalizer prevented Nevada from securing a victory on Senior Day, but the Wolf Pack will return to Mackay Stadium on Thursday, October 2nd, at 7:00 PM to face Grand Canyon University.
