Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters: World Tour Plans Revealed | NME

Netflix is in discussions with concert promoters about a potential world tour based on its hit animated musical film, KPop Demon Hunters, according to multiple sources familiar with the negotiations.

The film, released in June 2025, quickly became the most-watched original title in Netflix history, surpassing 500 million views. It follows Huntrix, a K-pop girl group who secretly perform as demon hunters, as they battle a rival boy band revealed to be comprised of demons. The film’s success has been further cemented by critical acclaim, including two Academy Awards on March 15 for Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song for ‘Golden’ – a first for a K-pop track to win a Grammy.

Sources indicate that Netflix is considering a tour encompassing dozens of major cities, with arena venues holding between 10,000 and 20,000 fans. Upfront guarantees offered to Netflix are reportedly in the tens of millions of dollars, though a promoter has yet to be selected. Bloomberg first reported the discussions.

A key question remains regarding the performers. The film features music performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REMI AMI, representing the Huntrix group. Netflix is reportedly weighing whether to feature these artists on tour, or to utilize virtual performers, such as holograms. Talent agency WME has also proposed a tour featuring the three singers independently of Netflix’s plans.

The potential tour follows a recent, and somewhat controversial, “K-Pop Forever! Tribute” concert held in Belfast on February 19. Some concertgoers criticized the event, claiming it deviated significantly from advertised content, featuring a lack of KPop Demon Hunters music and “adult” costumes. One attendee told Belfast Live that children were upset, stating the show “wasn’t as advertised.” Organizers defended the event, clarifying that it was intended as a broader celebration of K-pop music.

The soundtrack to KPop Demon Hunters achieved another milestone, becoming the first movie soundtrack to simultaneously place four songs in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It has since been certified double platinum in the United States.

Netflix has not commented on the status of the tour negotiations.
