Netflix Hires Warner Bros. Executive Katie Martin Kelley as VP of Film Communications
Katie Martin Kelley is joining Netflix as the streaming giant’s vice president of communications for film, stepping into the role effective Sept. 8, according to reports from The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. In her new position, Martin Kelley will report directly to Netflix chief communications officer Dani Dudeck, overseeing publicity and media relations for a global slate spanning live-action features, documentaries, and animation.
Navigating the Streaming Film Apparatus
The appointment addresses a leadership vacancy at the streamer following the departure of Emily Feingold, who spent eight years as VP of communications for the company. Under film chairman Dan Lin, Netflix continues to scale a production slate featuring major commercial bets and prestige titles alike. Martin Kelley arrives at the platform with more than two decades of major studio tenure, having most recently served as executive vice president of communications for the film group at Warner Bros. since 2023.
During her three-year tenure at Warner Bros., Martin Kelley managed media relations for a division that delivered major box office and awards season triumphs, including the Oscar-winning best picture One Battle After Another, alongside Sinners, Weapons, and the nearly $1 billion grossing A Minecraft Movie, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Building Out the Global Communications Suite
Martin Kelley’s arrival marks a central component of a broader executive reorganization spearheaded by Dani Dudeck, who joined the streamer in late 2025 to restructure its global messaging operations. Dudeck has steadily assembled a leadership team incorporating Kelly Pakula for global corporate communications, Oliver Rawlins leading EMEA, Flávia Vigio managing LATAM, and Joy Albert overseeing APAC operations, according to Variety.

“I’m excited to welcome Katie to Netflix as our VP of communications, film,” Dudeck said in a statement cited by The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. “She brings more than 20 years of experience from some of the world’s most renowned studios, where she’s worked with some of the industry’s most celebrated storytellers. I look forward to partnering with her as we support Netflix’s ambitious global film slate.”
The Studio Legacy and Upcoming Slate
Before her leadership role at Warner Bros., Martin Kelley served as chief communications officer at MGM, collaborating closely with film heads Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy prior to the studio’s acquisition by David Ellison’s Paramount. Her career also includes a 12-year run at Paramount Pictures overseeing domestic publicity and corporate communications. This extensive background across traditional studio systems positions her to manage Netflix’s upcoming theatrical and SVOD releases, which include Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, set for a global theatrical launch in February 2027, and Charlie vs the Chocolate Factory, slated for November 2027.
