According to reports, the documentary is produced by Maxine Productions, a part of Sony Pictures Television, with Mary Robertson serving as director and executive producer alongside Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman, and Aaron Saidman. Lora Moftah acts as co-executive producer, while Jessica Call produces the project. The series promises a raw record of a life lived in full, tracking Perry’s journey from a young comedy rising star to the global icon best known for playing Chandler Bing on NBC’s Friends alongside Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow. His film credits also include Fools Rush In with Selma Hayek, The Whole Nine Yards, Almost Heroes, and Three to Tango.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed in December 2023 that Perry died from the acute effects of ketamine, with drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine—a drug used to treat opioid use disorder—listed as contributing factors in his accidental death at age 54.
