Nebraska Basketball in Sweet 16: Huskers Face Iowa in Houston | TNT/truTV Coverage
HOUSTON, Tx. — The Nebraska Cornhuskers arrived in Houston Tuesday ahead of their Sweet Sixteen matchup against Iowa on Thursday, marking the program’s furthest advancement in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The game, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Central Time, will be televised on TBS and truTV, according to CBS Sports and TNT Sports.
This marks the first time Nebraska has reached the Sweet Sixteen in program history, following victories over Troy and Vanderbilt. The Huskers’ success continues a strong showing for the Considerable Ten Conference, with six teams still competing in the Sweet Sixteen round.
Iowa advanced to the Sweet Sixteen after defeating Clemson and top-seeded Florida. This is Iowa’s first appearance in the Sweet Sixteen since 1999. A win against Nebraska would send the Hawkeyes to their first Elite Eight since 1987.
The two teams split their regular-season series, adding another chapter to their longstanding rivalry. This will be the first NCAA Tournament meeting between Iowa and Nebraska.
The South Region Sweet Sixteen games are being played at the Toyota Center, home of the NBA’s Houston Rockets. Kevin Harlan will provide play-by-play commentary, with analysts Robbie Hummel and Stan Van Gundy, and sideline reporting by Lauren Shehadi.
Fans can stream the game via Sling TV, though regional restrictions may apply. 10/11 News will offer a streaming-only pregame show beginning at 6 p.m. Central Time on Thursday.
The winner of the Nebraska-Iowa game will advance to the Elite Eight on Saturday, March 28.
