RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State Women’s basketball is poised for another strong season, projected to finish second in the ACC according to preseason polls, with sophomores Zoe Brooks and Khamil Pierre earning Preseason All-ACC recognition. The proclamation signals high expectations for the Wolfpack as they prepare for the 2024-25 campaign.
the ACC’s preseason projections, compiled from 70 voters, place Duke at no. 1, followed closely by NC State, which received 25 first-place votes. This marks the sixth time the Pack has been tabbed to finish second in preseason ACC forecasts – previously occurring in 1995-96, 1999-00, 2019-20, 2020-21, 2024-25 and 2025-26. The rankings reflect a competitive landscape within the conference and set the stage for a challenging season for the Wolfpack.
Brooks and Pierre’s inclusion on the All-ACC team highlights their anticipated impact. brooks,a Phoenix,Arizona native,demonstrated remarkable freshman statistics,ranking No. 6 in field goal percentage and averaging the 19th-best points total nationally. She recorded 17 double-doubles and scored in double figures in all but one game, with a career-high 42 points, 18 rebounds, and eight steals against Evansville.Pierre, recognized for her consistent performance, earned five SEC Freshman of the Week honors and a spot on the All-SEC Freshman Team in 2023-24.
NC State will begin its season with an exhibition game against High point on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum. The game will not be televised or broadcast on the radio.
