NBA Legend Signature Card Sells for $12.9 Million

Record-Breaking​ Sale: ⁣Jordan-Bryant‌ Signed Card Fetches $12.932 Million

A rare ‍collectible‌ card featuring the signatures of NBA ‌icons Michael Jordan and Kobe ⁣Bryant⁤ has sold for ⁤a record $12.932 million⁣ at auction in the United States. The sale surpasses the previous record for a sports collectible,a baseball card​ from New ⁣York Yankees legend Mickey Mantle,which sold for ⁢$12.6 million.

The card, bearing the autographs⁣ of both Jordan⁢ and Bryant, who tragically died in a helicopter crash​ in⁢ January 2020, is now the second-most expensive piece of sports memorabilia ever sold.The most expensive remains Babe Ruth’s game-worn Yankees jersey, which fetched $24.1 million‍ at auction in 2023.

The $10 million threshold for a sports collectible at auction was first broken in 2022, wiht both the mantle card ⁢and a⁤ Michael Jordan jersey achieving that milestone. The⁣ Jordan jersey sold for $10.1 million.
