The 5th annual Clarke Power Services Speedway Children’s Charities Karting for a Cause event, presented by Tattoo Projects, promises high-speed action and fundraising for children in need.

On July 16, the infield karting course at Charlotte Motor Speedway will host a three-hour endurance race featuring a team of NASCAR Cup Series drivers. Noah Gragson and Zane Smith of FrontRow Motorsports, along with Cole Custer from Haas Factory Team, are among those participating.

Another notable participant is XFINITY series driver Nick Sanchez, who will lead one of the other 27 teams. The event promises spirited competition as teams vie for the checkered flag while raising money for Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC).

Last year’s event alone raised over $65,000, and over $200,000 has been raised since its inception. Spectators can attend the event with a $10 donation to SCC. Infield gates open at 5 p.m., with racing scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m.

Speedway Children’s Charities Impact

“Speedway Children’s Charities is grateful to the racing community and all of the many sponsors that make this annual event such an amazing day at the track as we race to raise funds for kids in need,” said Director of Speedway Children’s Charities Charlotte chapter Taylor Kirby. “In our fifth year of this annual karting event, we are fortunate to have teams circling this date on their calendar each year, making it a can’t-miss event.”

SCC Charlotte distributed more than $1.4 million to local nonprofits in 2024. Nationally, SCC serves 11 communities across the United States. Since its establishment in 1982, SCC has contributed over $72 million to nonprofit organizations nationwide.

Notably, in 2023, charitable giving in the United States declined by 3.4% to $499.3 billion, underscoring the importance of continued support for organizations like SCC (Giving USA 2024).

Karting for a Cause is among various fundraising initiatives hosted by SCC annually, ranging from black-tie galas to race weekend activities.
