NASCAR Shifts Charlotte Roval Xfinity Start Time
Event moved back one hour for Blue Cross North Carolina 250
NASCAR has adjusted the starting time for the Xfinity Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval. The Blue Cross North Carolina 250 will now commence at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 4th, one hour later than its originally scheduled 4 p.m. ET slot.
Roval Ready for Historic Weekend
The switch in start time will not affect the broadcast, as the race is still slated to air on The CW. While sunset is expected around 7 p.m. ET, the Roval is equipped with lights, allowing the event to proceed into the evening. This capability proved crucial in 2020 when rain delayed the race, forcing it to conclude after dark.
The Xfinity Series has rain tires available, a contingency that mirrors preparations from previous seasons, including the rain-affected 2020 event. This year’s Roval weekend marks a significant milestone, as it will be the first time all three NASCAR national series – Cup, Xfinity, and Craftsman Truck – compete at the road course circuit, which was introduced to the schedule in 2018.
The Charlotte Roval has become a unique challenge on the NASCAR calendar, blending traditional oval racing with intricate road course sections. In 2023, the Xfinity Series finale at Phoenix Raceway saw **Cole Custer** clinch the championship, highlighting the intense competition within the series. The Roval race promises further drama as drivers vie for crucial points and a chance at victory on this demanding track.
