Nagui Reflects on Late TV Host Thierry Ardisson, Reveals He Was Unaware of Illness
Television personality Nagui has spoken movingly about the recent passing of Thierry Ardisson, the longtime host known for programs like Everyone Talks About It and Hi Terrans, who died of liver cancer. Nagui shared his condolences to Ardisson’s family - including partner Audrey Crespo-mara and children Gaston, Ninon, and Manon – expressing regret that he hadn’t been closer to the presenter in his final days.
The remarks came during a September 20, 2025 appearance on the France 2 program From C to You, where Nagui revealed he was unaware of the severity of Ardisson’s illness. “I was not [si proche] because I was absolutely not aware of his illness,” Nagui stated. “I had seen him not long before, I received him on France Inter. I absolutely did not know the evil that gnawed at him.” Ardisson’s death has prompted reflection on his notable contributions to French television and a deeper understanding of the private struggles he faced.
Nagui praised a recent documentary about Ardisson produced by Audrey Crespo-Mara,calling it “formidable” and noting it revealed a side of the TV personality many hadn’t seen. “I wrote to him to tell him that it was bright and overwhelming,” Nagui told Mohamed bouhafsi. “We discover someone hypersensitive, not at all violent, aggressive or vulgar.” Nagui and Ardisson’s professional paths crossed several times, including Ardisson inviting Nagui onto his shows in 2004 and 2014.
