Vivian Wilson, the transgender daughter of Elon Musk, revealed she lives on a modest budget, sharing housing with three roommates to manage expenses, in a new interview with the Cut magazine published Tuesday. Despite being the child of the world’s richest man, Wilson stated she doesn’t have “hundreds of thousands of dollars at my disposal.”
Wilson, an aspiring model and influencer who legally changed her name and severed ties with her father in 2022, explained she’s financially independent and avoids relying on her mother for support. “I can afford to eat. I have friends, a shelter and some available income, which is good and much more fortunate than most people of my age in Los Angeles,” she said. She added she has ”no desire to be super rich.”
the 19-year-old is currently hoping to enroll in community school to study languages and expressed anxiety about saving money. Wilson has publicly criticized Musk for his response to her gender transition, while Musk has claimed she was influenced by “woke mind virus” to pursue the transition at age 16.
Wilson acknowledged her mother is wealthy, but contrasted that with her father’s “unimaginable wealth.” She shared concerns typical of a young person with limited funds, emphasizing her desire for financial self-sufficiency.
