Muhammadu Buhari Dies: Global News on the Death of Nigerian President

former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has passed away at the age of 82.

Buhari, who served as NigeriaS head of state from 1983 to 1985 and later as its democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023, died on Wednesday. His death was announced by various news outlets, including the BBC, The New York Times, The Guardian, CNN, and The washington Post.

During his military rule, Buhari implemented a “War against indiscipline,” focusing on public order and national ethics. As president, he campaigned on a platform of fighting corruption, improving security, and revitalizing the economy. His tenure saw efforts to combat the boko Haram insurgency and address economic challenges, including fluctuations in oil prices.

Buhari’s political career spanned several decades,including unsuccessful presidential bids before his victory in 2015. He was succeeded by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who won the 2023 presidential election.
