by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

A mobile consular service dispatched by Morocco’s Consulate General in Miami completed over 800 transactions for Moroccan citizens in Dallas, Texas, on February 7th and 8th, 2026. The operation aimed to provide essential consular services to the Moroccan diaspora residing in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and surrounding states.

Organized in partnership with the Consulate General of the Kingdom in New York and the consular section of the Moroccan embassy in Washington, D.C., the mobile consulate offered a range of services including the issuance and renewal of national identity cards, passport applications and renewals, notarial services, certifications, and other administrative procedures, according to a statement released by the Consulate.

This marks the first mission of this scale undertaken by the Consulate General in Miami within the state of Texas. The initiative is part of a broader Royal strategy to ensure accessible and efficient consular services for Moroccans living abroad (MRE), sources confirmed.

Dallas was specifically chosen due to its vibrant and active Moroccan community, which significantly contributes to the social, economic, and cultural life of the region while maintaining strong ties to their Moroccan heritage.

During the two-day operation, more than 800 services were provided, each processed with “rigor and professionalism,” reflecting Morocco’s commitment to supporting its diaspora.

Chafika El Habti, the Consul General of Morocco in Miami, met with Jim Ross, the Mayor of Arlington, Texas, on the sidelines of the consular outreach, though details of the meeting were not disclosed.
