Miu Miu Declares teh Apron the Defining Garment of Summer 2026
MILAN – Miu Miu has unveiled its Summer 2026 collection, centering the humble apron as a potent symbol of female labor and empowerment. The collection, previewed to journalists via email, positions the apron-traditionally associated with domesticity and service-as a uniform for a newly emancipated woman, sparking anticipation for a strong retail response.
Miuccia Prada explained the inspiration behind the collection, stating, “I wanted to talk about the work of women thru my work. Women‘s work, whether in factories, services, care or at home.” Prada views the apron as representing the “efforts and challenges of women” across all sectors, noting its longstanding presence within the Miu Miu aesthetic. This marks the first time the brand has elevated the apron to a central thematic element. The collection pairs the apron silhouette with 1970s-inspired accessories-scarves, cable belts, and knotted bikinis-aiming to drive in-store traffic and continue Miu Miu’s momentum.
The Summer 2026 collection is expected to arrive in stores beginning November 2025.
