Missoma Recalls Earrings Over Cancer-Causing Chemical

jewellery brand Missoma has issued a recall ⁢of its Gold Mini Huggie Hoop Earrings due to⁣ a “serious chemical risk,”⁢ including the potential for cancer. The⁢ recall,announced ⁣by the UK’s Office ⁤for ⁤product Safety and Standards,affects earrings⁣ sold between January 2023 and October ⁢2024.

The alert states the earrings contain nickel levels exceeding legal⁣ limits, posing⁤ a health risk to consumers. Prolonged skin contact with excessive nickel can cause allergic reactions, dermatitis, and, in certain specific cases, increase the risk of developing cancer.
